Is Human Resource Planning worthwhile for a business?
An uninterrupted process of proper systematic planning, to optimize the precious asset in an organization, who are the quality employees makes the reason why, human resource planning is necessary. Human Resource Planning (HRP) ensures that there is no lack of manpower in a business. Moreover, HRP enables companies to prepare ahead to keep a constant supply of skilled employees (Hayes, A. (2023)).
Below shows
the four key steps for HRP: -
The use of
human resource planning should be capable enough to meet challenges in staffing
people and at the same time getting used to changing conditions in the business
environment in the long run. Another purpose of human resource planning would
be that this planning would help to recognize companies’ skills and targets to
strategically get to business goals and to be ready for future challenges. Furthermore,
HRP focuses on employee motivation, organizational design, success in planning
and overall increase in return on investment. (
HRP will enable
us to help enhance salary and get better benefits. It also helps the organization
to check its corporate plan. In addition, it helps to a greater scope through training
for the development of employees.
What are the challenges faced in HRP?
Challenges
that may arise to HRP are always changing forces that include employees falling
ill, getting a promotion, going on vacation, or resigning for another job.
Therefore, HRP enables the planning to be a best fit between jobs and workers
neglecting the shortages for the employees.
The
importance of HRP lead businesses to maintain and target talented employees
with having the proper technical and soft skills to develop better functions in
the company. This will help managers to train their employees and develop the
required skills.
The recent demand for sophisticated HR planning models is due to organizations growing at large scale and becoming more complex, which is in need of a sophisticated approach. (P Dalvi, (2013)).
How do you think HRP would benefit the people in the organization?
The benefits of using HR planning in an organization are that workers would be able to work sufficiently without the need to hire independent contractors. Also, it will help to enhance retention for employees and at the same time, gives a certainty of staffing, scheduling, and planning into supplying employees with what they need to carry out a good job and settle in the firm for a long time. (Wallstreetmojo Team, (2023))
Ways to overcome problems in Human Resource Planning
- Identify the preliminary needs and run a requirement analysis.
- Evolve the approach and gain support.
- Examine and analyze for potential barriers.
- Plan for actions.
- Implement under project management.
- Assess development and follow up to give corrective action when needed.
In my opinion, I think that HR planning is crucial process that helps to ensure that organizations must have the right people with the right skills at the right time to achieve business goals.
